From Barn to Backcountry

Across Montana’s open ranges and untamed backcountry, the line between domestic and wild is rarely fixed.

This collection explores the quiet relationship between animals shaped by human hands and those guided only by instinct. Horses in pasture, cattle beneath wide skies, wildlife moving through prairie and timber — each exists under the same light, bound to the same land.

Through light, space, and gesture, these images reveal both contrast and connection. Strength, vulnerability, dependence, and freedom coexist here. Each frame invites the viewer to consider how closely the tame and the untamed live alongside one another — and how the land itself holds them both.
